Price when picked $32.19 (9 October 2026 close). Latest $32.59, +1.2% since the pick.

Why we picked it
Margin did the work. Net interest margin rose to 4.17% in the first half of 2026 from 3.32% a year earlier as funding costs fell, and net income rose 50% to $24.1M.
It runs lean. The efficiency ratio was 30.16% in the first half, down from 36.60%. Q2 non-interest expense was $6.9M against $23.0M of net interest income.
Credit got cleaner. Nonperforming loans halved to $5.4M, 0.27% of loans, since December, and the $34.6M allowance covers them 6.4 times.
The price. A $378.6M market cap against $346.9M of equity (1.09x book) and $45.8M of net income over the last twelve months (8.3x).

The risk. Loans shrank 0.2% in the first half and foreclosed property rose $3.9M to $6.8M. The growth came from margin, not volume.
